You’re invited: Reducing your home ignition risk during a wildfire

Join the Corbett Firewise community and Jen Warren, Fire Risk Reduction Specialist with the Oregon State Fire Marshal, for an evening of education, Q&A, and resource-sharing to help you make informed decisions that could help save your home during a wildfire.

When and where: Thursday, April 24 6-7:30 at Menucha’s Wright Hall (38711 E HCRH). Pizza will be served.

The presentation will cover:

  • Recent wildfire trends in Oregon

  • Research on ways to reduce the ignition risk of your home by focusing on home hardening and strategic landscaping choices in the immediate, intermediate, and extended zones around your home.

  • Resources for wildfire resistant plants, evacuation planning, and more.

  • An update from Corbett Fire on the ways the district is preparing for wildfire season

Springtime means getting the lawnmower out of the barn, pruning trees and shrubs, installing new plants, and catching up on a variety of home maintenance projects. This workshop will help you tackle these tasks with a new lens: reducing your home ignition risk during a wildfire
